16mi, 1:49:31 (6:50)
Went out to a bike path called the Row River trail, about a half hour South of here, with a bunch of other people. In addition to some of the people I normally run with, we had a group of Ohio University runners that had road tripped out to Eugene for the Trials. A local runner (who ran 2:15 at the Olympic Marathon Trials) went to school at OU so that's how the connection got made.
The route was out and back, so there were a lot of people going a lot of different distances. Some of the OU guys turned around as soon as 3-4 miles in; a lot of them turned around at 6.5, and when I turned around at 8 there was only one guy still going (a group did 18 miles and then two of them did another 2 miles when they got back). So on the return trip it was me, an OU guy, and Renee. We had done low 7s on the way out, and we were doing high 6s on the way back, but then my stomach started hurting, and in wanting to get back (to the bathroom) sooner I pushed the pace, and we were doing 6:30s and faster for a lot of it. It was fun and felt good except for my stomach, which felt fine after. Splits were 56:03 out and 53:28 back.
