I feel a little intimidated by the larger numbers you boys are pumping out routinely, but that's okay. I don't have any other girls to compare to so the disparity between us seems massive.
Anyone tried my electrolyte cocktail yet?
I don't know why you're intimidated, I for one haven't been running very far! lol. What electrolyte cocktail are you referring to?
ReplyDeleteI always have to remind people not to compare themselves to me. I am superhuman.
ReplyDeleteI tried that electrolyte drink last week...it tasted like Gatorade without the flavor. I might add more honey next time, but as it was it didn't taste like vinegar, so thumbs up.

ReplyDeleteTry it with juice!
ReplyDeletePS thanks!
That sounds too complicated for me, I'll just stick with water I think =P
ReplyDeletewater and peanuts are my post workout food. nothing better than a cold glass of water after a hard workout..
ReplyDeleteMy favorite post-run snack is a PBR and a PBJ. Or maybe 2 of each.
ReplyDelete(That's a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, for those who didn't know.)
I didn't know, so thanks Luke! And yes, I was also pleasantly surpised that it didn't taste like vinegar. And that maybe I can develop a taste for this American style "iced" tea yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd Alison you are running loads! I don't want you to collapse please.
Luke you're nuts. The last thing I want to do after running or playing basketball is have a beer!
ReplyDeleteCold water is kinda hard on my stomach thus my new cocktails or putting some lime or lemon into iced white tea helps a lot. I often get a salad with a bunch of spicy tofu from Pei Wei after because it's so light and proteiny. Or eat a bunch of baby carrots with hummus and some tomatoes with a little vinaigrette on top.
ReplyDeletemmm hummus! now THAT sounds yummy
ReplyDeleteHummus ALL the time!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes fancy beer some time after running, if not straight after. After my excellent run yesterday, I felt I had earned the right to get smashed, so I did. Damn.
Now that I have a Magic Bullet blender, I've been making my own lemon pepper hummus. It's easier to digest because I can soak the chickpeas before processing them in the blender. If you soak your legumes (for 4 hours to overnight) and then toss that water, it will really reduce bean bloat. Yay!
