Felt like a major improvement in speed and comfort, although looking at the figures it was hardly record breaking.
Having gotten all your excellent advice, I rubbed some ice on my foot in the most basic way described, as I havent gotten any cups yet. I did it a little bit afterwards too but that didn't help as much as I then had to run to try and catch a tram, which I was seconds too late for. Bastard. Anyway, rubbing it beforehand definitely helped significantly, so thank you, I will continue to try the things you all suggested.
