Luke - 8.75

8.75mi, 64:07 (7:19)
Wednesday Fox Hollow with Zack. Up the hill in 7:26 (a new PR), down in 6:51. I felt good and Zack felt bad, so on the way back I picked it up to about 6:30 pace. Oh and this was the first run in my new red Brooks T6 Racers (my older ones are yellow), so that probably has something to do with the speed.

Steve - 6.5

Its a funny coincidence that the track club (called Namban Rengo, means Barbarian Horde in Japanese) I was attending in Shibuya tonight is also on Wednesday night and that one of the guys from my club in Pasadena was also here tonight! He lived in a Japan for a long time 10 years ago or so, and was also visiting Japan.

I had talked with one of the leaders of the club, Juergen, online a few times and he was really cool. He is a German guy that has lived in Japan for 21 years. He pretty much can speak to anyone in the world because he knows so many languages. Every last Wednesday of the month the club does a 5k time trial. I decided I wanted to run a tempo 5k around 20 minutes. A bit ambitious to run that pace in a tempo effort, but I thought it was not unreasonable. Typically during these workouts, the track is absolutely jammed with people from all kinds of clubs and school teams. Wednesday is the only day the track is open to the public. Fortunately it wasnt too crowded because it was a school break or something. Generally there are race walkers and stuff in lane 1 and its a mess.

About 40 of us lined up for the trial. The pace was blazing for the first 200 and I settled in in the middle of the pack. I wanted to keep a hard pace without pushing too hard. I had to move into lane 2 several times to pass slower runners from other groups, but it didnt cost me too much time. I ran roughly even 400 splits and I was lapped by some of the faster runners with about 500 meters to go. I think some of the really fast guys lapped me with about 700 to go. When I hit the final turn, I felt someone pushing to catch me so I just made sure this clown didnt beat me to the finish. It was a nice controlled surge, not a sprint. Final time was 20:28. It was a good solid effort and I felt good when I finished. I think I could have run maybe 45-60 seconds faster if I had pushed it, but who knows.

I will start running further one of these days when I have time! This was a DVD-return run on Monday. I was surprised at how little time it took.

Relay For Life resulted in very little running. We got there early and my team was a bit thin on the ground (ie. Alison and I made up two thirds of it). We did a few hours of good walking though and I ran around the track a couple of times, but it was a bit crowded. There was a weird mixture of music that all sounded novel to me (Zumba and an american-south folkish band). Had little success getting people to pay for massages (from professionals) so we started offering them for free.

5.25mi, 38:27 (7:19)

Steve - 5.6

52:40 (9:24)

Today was my first full day in Japan. I wanted to get in a good run early this week because I am going to be traveling on Saturday, when I usually get in a long, challenging run. I am staying in a decent sized city in Tokyo, not exactly a running oasis. I headed out the door with my Nike Plus so as to capture the distance. I ran along the streets with all the pedestrians and bicyclists. I had to stop at all the many stop lights, but I found a few small rivers that I was able to run along. I found one loop around a small river that is a little more than a mile without any lights. There are a few blind intersections that have mirrors so that one can see approaching vehicles. I managed to keep a solid pace, despite all the stopping and starting. Nike Plus said I did 5.89 miles. Since I was going at a slow pace towards the beginning, it was probably off by a few tenths of a mile, so I will call it 5.6 miles to be safe.

Its pretty cold here, about 40 degrees when I ran. I guess the Tokyo winter hasnt ended yet. Its cherry blossom season so there are little cherry blossom trees everywhere. Its pretty cool. Later this week I am heading down to Kyoto and Osaka where there they are in abundance.

45

I just ran on a treadmill at 2 am in the morning. I can honestly say I have never run at this time before. I had planned to do 6.25 miles, but my body wasn't responding the way I wanted after 30 min. I decided to just get to 45 minutes instead. I didn't want to depend on the treadmill too much. Ok, time to get a few hours of sleep. Been up for almost 24 hours straight...

James/Alison - 0.8

7:28

Another pretty short run. Alison scared me. I ran ahead of her, then turned around and couldn't see her, even though it was a straight trail. She was off to the side looking in a bush for a cat she saw.

Tonight we are doing Relay for Life, which I think I just about understand now. I'm going as part of my college group called Ethics in Action, which is woefully short in members and will probably not make it the whole 24 hours. I plan to do some walking and running, and Alison wants to take the opportunity to run as well. I get the impression this is a popular thing over here, have any of you ever done it?

Luke - 9

It was cold and rainy, and not many people showed up for the 6pm race. I recognized one person as the guy that won the Duck Dash, so I figured I could let him pull me along and I might have a shot at beating him if I ran an outstanding time. The race started by circling a park, then turned onto the bike path. I ran with Duck Dash Winner (DDW) and we talked slightly at the start. I was definitely much more well warmed up than last race, and had done enough strides to be ready for the first mile going fast. At the one mile mark the race did a 180 around a guy standing there reading our splits. He said 5:07 but I when I hit my watch it said 5:11. Either way, right where I wanted to be! DDW got serious after that and I could take our 1/4-mile splits because the bike path has them marked. I just kept up with him as he ran a 77, then another 77, and then he pulled away. I ran a 73 and he must have been about 5 seconds in front of me. My second mile was 5:12, right where I wanted to be, but maybe 8-10 seconds behind DDW. At that point I was in no-man's land, and just tried to push it and focus on DDW. At one point I was able to look behind me and see the third-place guy lingering about twenty seconds back and I figured we would probably finish in that order. Not much happened the rest of the race; I saw DDW in front of me and wasn't able to catch him, but I figured I would PR so I was pushing hard. Coming down the final stretch I could see the clock in the 16:teens and I kicked in for a 16:19 on my watch (16:20 on theirs). PR by fifteen seconds! After the race I thanked DDW for pulling me along to a PR and he congratulated me. He said he had found out about the race about 45 minutes before it started and he was "glad we didn't go out too fast" or he would have been hurting. His time was 15:52.
There was free beer at the awards ceremony and I got a medal for winning my age group (DDW is 30) and some bagels and cookies. DDW got a comped entry to the next race...I'm kinda glad I didn't get that because I'd like to focus on training instead of racing for a while; these past couple weeks have been pretty low-mileage. Gotta get into the triple digits where I belong!

Steve - 6.88

Track workout with the Flyers. Today was the 1 mile time trial. My goal was to run around 6:00 minute/mile pace and then close the last 400 fast without pushing too hard. So it wouldn't be an all-out mile, but more controlled. I went a tad slow, which is probably OK because I haven't been running at this pace for awhile. I thought I sped it up a bit on the next two laps, but the first 3 laps were all practically the same time. When I finished the 3rd lap, and I heard the time 4:37, I knew I had to pick it up. It helped that the guy I ran with was behind me and I could feel him trying to catch me. As I sped up, he sped up too. I wasn't interested in racing. It was just nice to have someone to keep me on pace. He caught up with me in the last 50 and I cruised it in instead of trying to outsprint him. Landed right on 6:00, giving me a last lap of 1:23. I think if I had pushed it on early laps, I could have run 5:45, or maybe a tad faster. I was gassed at the end, but not totally out of gas...

I did two 1600s afterward and those felt pretty good. I did run the full 1609 meters for the trial (in my Adrenalines). For the 1600s, I kept the pace relaxed and smooth, but not easy. According to McMillan, a 5:45 mile equates to a 19:55 5k. That sounds about right for the kind of shape I am right now. My intervals were done at about a 20:30 5k. For me the key with intervals is to run just slightly slower than the pace I would need to push. I feel like I accomplished that.

OK, now I just need to find a way to fit in a run on Friday....or super early on Saturday before my flight at 11:25am to Tokyo! I will hit 20 miles this week (even though I'm getting jacked a day), et toi, Chris?

Ran to a friend's house to drop off $5 for our tournament pool (even though I'm obviously going to win) and then ran back up to the grass field that's like a minute from my house and ran barefoot and shirtless in it for a little over a mile. It's been too wet to do that until today, and it is still a bit mushy in places, but it will be a great field for barefoot running in the coming weeks and months.

Tomorrow's goals:
A) Win
B) PR
C) Have fun

Steve - 7

63:00 (9:00)

I ran for about 7 miles around Griffith Park with a friend. I forgot my watch and my friend never runs with a watch, so the time is approximate. I started the clock on my phone before the run and then got stopped after we got back. I'm sure I ran at least 63 min, so there is no way I ran less than 7 miles. We started out nice and easy and settled into a nice 8:30 or so pace for most of the run. For the final 2/3 miles we were probably around 7:50-8:15 and it felt pretty good. Groin did bother me a bit, but I stopped to stretch it a few times. Still not getting worse, so that's a good sign. I think you can run through injuries as long as you don't change your form. So I will continue to do that. I'm going to Japan on Saturday morning, so I will need to get in a third run somehow on Thursday or Friday. But with NCAA tourney action on both nights, it's going to be difficult. I might need to get up really early to run. These next few days are going to be pretty chaotic with packing, basketball watching, and commuting to/from to work (since my car is still in the shop and I'm taking the bus everywhere and getting rides from friends). The good news is the repairs might be free because the part causing problem was replaced 4 months back. Anyway, I rambled on enough about all that nonsense.

Ran during lunch @ work today during halftime of the N. Iowa/Kansas game and got back just in time to see the last 5 minutes or so. What a game! My best bracket on ESPN is in 6,846th place. Playing basketball tomorrow so I'll probably take Monday off to let my legs rest. First 20 mile week in a long time!

Steve - 5.7

47:06 (8:16)

I decided to run during the early game (St. Mary's vs. Villanova) cuz there was only game going and I could watch later without commercials. That way when the other games started later in the day, I would have my run out of the way. I started out in a nice leisurely place and then hammered home the final 1.69 in 12:10 (7:12 pace). It was a pretty strong effort, certainly not all-out. I needed to push a bit, but I could have continued. I did the final part of this tempoish run at a park near my house, so I also did some strides and then jogged home.

Thanks to my excellent time management, I was able to catch all of the Northern Iowa upset over Kansas. Speaking of the tournament, I think now is a good time for me to list the top 5 annoying March Madness commercials. And here we go....

5. Intel - Jeffrey. Some dumbass going on a rant about how Intel's new Turbo chip is the company's greatest invention ever. Little does this moron know, but the company's actual best invention ever is a robot named Jeffrey standing right behind him! The incompetent bafoons next to him do some splendid facial expressions as the dumbass continues his rant. The capper is the "bum-bumbumbum" at the end where you can see all the people standing. For some reason, I just can't stand seeing all these people mouthing "bum-bumbumbum"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbifmRBBN6Q

4. Axe. The guy whose armpits shoot out water like a fire hydrant until some girl walks up to him and rubs the Axe deodorant on his armpit. This one is on the list because I haven't seen it on a tv for a few years, but they brought it back en masse for March Madness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4pQs3bIiC4

3. Intel - The two dorks. A progression of two losers marveling at amazing technological innovations from different time periods in their lives. "This is completely and totally awesome." After hearing the fatass spout this off 100 times, it makes you want not live anymore. And yes, "bum-bumbumbum" with all the people is at the end of this garbage too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4pQs3bIiC4

2. KGB. The singing women montage. Horrible. Just pray to God that you don't get the melody stuck in your head. And why on Earth would someone spend 99 cents to send a text message to KGB for an answer to a question that would take only 10 seconds to find on google?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL_BP8Jk4JQ

1. The Ivan Brothers! Two Viking brothers for West Eastern State. They earned the 15 seed and all the top coaches in the country testify to their skills. One brother wears a Viking helmet with horns and dunks. The other brother can shoot 3-pointers. And they wear huge Viking boots! If you're like me (and probably none of you are because I took two days off work to watch as much of the first 32 games on Thursday and Friday), you noticed that when you watch March Madness games on ncaa.com, they have a pre-roll for 15 seconds with the Ivan Brothers. Whenever you change games online, it's another pre-roll ad for 15 seconds with, yep, you guessed it, the Ivan Brothers! Oh and it's an ad for Capital One.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2evawTJgu6E

Honorable Mention:

The Capital One ad with the band of pillagers taking a vacation on the beach.

Please feel free to submit your most hated, annoying commercials from March Madness.

30:59 - 7:22 pace

This run was kinda brutal - the first half anyway. I stayed up last night till 2 watching an entire days worth of NCAA basketball and having scotch. It was glorious. But that meant today my legs didn't have much energy/spring in em. Still was great to get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine! I wasn't planning to, but I decided I'm going to run tomorrow during lunch as well. Go Zags!

Relentless Hill Loop. Beautiful day out, but it was still muddy in places. I need to do more hills (and mileage in general) because this felt tough.

Steve - 3.2

26:07 (8:10)

I did 7 loops around the park near my house plus the run to and from my house. Each loops is about .40 miles based on Gmaps. I like running here because it's all grass. Also I have a place to do strides too. It gets kind of boring after awhile though. This run was strategically timed to miss the least amount of basketball possible. They show only one game between 2 and 4 pm on Thursday and Friday, so I went during this time period(during the shitty Utah State and Texas A&M game). I just wanted to get in a decent run to make up for all the sitting on my ass and eating takeout food. On Thursday I was at a friend's house gambling on the games and watching as many games as possible on a tv and two separate laptops. Unfortunately on Thursday night, my car wouldn't start, so I had to get it towed to get fixed again. The repair shop wasn't able to look at it, so I won't even know what's wrong with it until Monday or Tuesday. Anyway great two days otherwise.

Steve - 5.75

Flyers workout. Standard workout for me. Progressive 3-mile tempo run. Stomach was kind of messed up, but still managed to drop the hammer on the last lap in 1:28. I pushed a bit on that lap, but I just wanted to see what my legs had. Definitely a good workout today. This run did make me realize that I'm not in that great of shape though. I'm not sure if I could hold a 6:20-6:30 pace for a 5k, although I was wearing my Brooks Adrenalines (twice as heavy as flats) for this workout..

The first split might be a little off b/c I had to stop when we almost ran in front of a car sitting at a light that had just turned green. Just wanting to get my mileage up this week - take advantage of the long run on Sunday...

I created a group on ESPN.com for March Madness; you are all required to join. Click here and make your selections, then add your pickset to the group "Some Running.", and the password is "miles". Now that stupid Daylight Saving Time (or Daylight Wasting Time as I like to call it because I hate how the sun sets so early in December) is over , I can run at Griffith Park after work. It's only a few miles from my work and is a great place to run. Lots of trails and great views of L.A. Yesterday I went with a running buddy and he took me on a pretty cool run. Some good uphill climbs. Weather was perfect. My friend couldn't run too fast cuz he did a race the day before, so the pace was pretty slow. I felt really good on the run. Looks like I am finally getting into a good training groove and the groin isn't bothering me as much.

Chris - 8.31

64:31 - 7:45 pace

Ran with Luke through campus and over toward Autzen Stadium. We were running on Pre's trail, planning on doing a nice 5-6 miler, since my longest run so far this year has been only 4.2, and he mentioned that Pre's Rock was over yonder. I had never seen it, even after living in Eugene for 5 years, so of course I said hell yeah let's run up that huge ass hill and go check it out! I'm feeling pretty good right now, even though at the end of the run my hip and knee were feeling pretty weak and whatnot. I'll make sure to do some good stretching later tonight when we're playing irish whiskey pong (since I gave up beer for Lent). Although last night I made a concession, since gulping down PBR isn't exactly my idea of sitting back to enjoy a nice tall glass of some yummy microbrew. It pains me pretty good to come down to Eugene and not be able to go visit the Bier Stein =(. Anyway, time to go clean up. Hope you all have had a good weekend!

Pretty much the same run I did last Saturday. A bit faster and a bit longer. Took a few splits at some intersections so I could compare times. Started out around 9 min/mile pace and closed the final 1.19 in 7:28 pace. Didn't need to push. Middle portion around 8:30ish. Shooting for 4 runs and 20 mi next week. I'm thinking I'm in solid sub 20 5k pace, but won't really know for awhile. I most likely won't do a 5k for awhile. I'll just keep building my mileage and doing progressive runs. I figure I can so sub 19 in May. Anyway, I'm going to Japan in 2 weeks and will be there for 3 weeks. I will be running in a 10k race there, but it's a ridiculously difficult course so I will be lucky to run under 42. It's got crazy hills and gravel in some sections.

5k race, 16:51, first place

Got to the park at about 8:30 and picked up my race number and started warming up around 8:40, fifty minutes before the race start. Was pretty slow on the warmup, but did about three miles. Probably would have done well to do another mile or more actually. At the start line it looked like there would be some competition (a number of guys in racing flats, etc.). A shorter guy who looked like a triathlete asked if I was doing the 5k or 10k; I told him I was doing 5 and he said he was doing 10.
Gun went off and triathlete took off pretty well and a guy in white was not too far behind him, and then there was me. I could tell I went out too slow, probably because of not enough warmup, and I'd only done one or two strides. I stayed in third the first mile, with a couple other runners right near me. At the mile mark there is a hairpin turn with a little drop onto a different bike path, and a few things happened in rapid succession as I got there. First, the guy giving splits said 5:37, second, I said "Jesus." because that is way too slow (I was hoping for 5:15 or better), and third, my foot slipped out from under me as I made the turn, and I went down pretty hard. I got back up as quickly as I could, but I had landed on my knee and was pretty sure I was bleeding, but couldn't really see without stopping. So my hands and right knee hurt and I was mad about being so slow at the mile so I really tried to take off. I pushed as hard as I should have been pushing the first mile and managed to catch guy in white at about the halfway point and was within sight of triathlete by two miles. My second mile was 5:24, which I was much happier about, and I was still pushing hard. At the place where the 10k and 5k courses split I was about 5 seconds behind triathlete, and for some reason I had been getting slightly paranoid that he had lied to me and was doing the 5k. Of course he wasn't, so at the split I was in first place, and just had to follow a guy on a bike who was pacing or showing the way or whatever. At a few places I was able to look behind to check if anyone had a chance at catching me, but I guess all the people who were close were doing the 10k. Third mile was I think another 5:24; it was 5:56 from the second mile to the end anyway.
After the race I was able to check my leg, and it was indeed quite bloody. I have a half-dollar sized wound right below the kneecap and then the top half of my shin is fairly scraped up as well. Also a couple little holes on my hand where I had caught myself and pushed myself back up.
A little over a minute after I'd finished I saw the second place guy coming in, and it happened to be a good friend of mine by the name of Zack Kennedy. The 1956 Hilyard crew going 1-2, what what.
I cooled down by running back to my friend who was doing her first 5k ever and running with her the last mile. We waited around for the awards ceremony, and my prizes were a comped entry into another 5k, which I had been planning on doing anyway, and a really dumb visor. They had probably a hundred of these visors and maybe thirty people stuck around for the awards ceremony. We didn't stick around for the random prize drawings because we figured they would just be handing out visors all day.

I am horrified to find that I ran no further than my previous run, and in fact did it 3 minutes slower. It did hurt like hell, and I did it this time without any stops, but still. I did it because I've been filling a bit ill and judging by how rough I felt when I got home maybe this was pushing it too far. But because I'm a macho dick, I'm telling myself I'm better off for punishing myself so.

Ran w/ Darren again today - took it easy after the tough run yesterday. It was also the 4th or 5th day in a row he'd run this week, so he was feeling it pretty good (even though he still managed to beat me). Guess I have a ways to go before I'm back into the great running shape I was in last summer.

Didn't feel great, but the pace was faster than usual, so I guess it's okay.

Workout with the Flyers. The massive winds from the previous day were not an issue tonight. It wasn't that cold, but I came prepared with my tights! Hadn't busted those out for a while. Anyway, I tested the groin a bit by running a nice progressive 3 miles. Went from running about 2:20 on the first lap to about 1:40 on the last lap. The groin isn't getting much better or worse, so as long as I can keep gradually building my mileage and intensity, I'll keep going. Details of the workout below

19:01 wup (1.8 miles)
3 mi in 24:01 (8:52, 7:53, 7:16)
6:34 cd (.70 miles)

Wednesday Fox Hollow with Zack, and it went great. Zack got new shoes, which probably helped. I realized about six minutes up The Hill, when I started slipping around, that I had worn my regular shoes instead of my trail shoes, which ultimately probably helped my time, which was 7:48, my best uphill split of that ever. 7:30 down as we went carefully, and then on the way back Zack picked it up so I gladly went with him, and we went 6:48 for the first mile (on super-soft bark) and then something like 6:15 pace the next 3/4 mile. Gave us a lot of confidence for Saturday!

Chris - 4.2

Ran with Darren today - we kicked this run's ass. I felt like I was going to keel over after we were done. Even finished with a sprint into the parking lot. I'm going to beat 30 one of these days...

I intended to run outside tonight, but the winds were gusting at like 30 miles per hour and the temperature was pretty low too. With windchill it felt like sub 40. So I bagged running outside and hopped on a treadmill. This turned out to be a good thing cuz it forced me to work out with weights in the gym afterwords for the first time in 2 weeks.

Groin still bothers me, but I'm dealing with it. Doesn't seem to be getting worse, so I will continue forward.

Mile loops of 7:51, 7:40, 7:26, and 7:01. I had forgotten it was Tuesday, so when Zack came home and asked if we would be doing the running-calzoning biathlon (our usual Tuesday ritual), I got excited to run. I probably should have run this morning, too, but since I didn't, tonight felt very easy.

Woah! Hi guys!

Yeah, so, I suck. This has been a particularly cool-weather 2.5 months in Florida and I didn't take advantage of it to run outside more. Adjusting to college life has been hard! After commenting on one of Lukes posts that I was inspired to run, I did do one, but never could be bothered to do the measuring my new location required. That was about a month ago and it was 10 minutes.

This fares little better, and actually happened mostly because I had to turn in some last-minute work at college; hah! And it took place 4 days ago, on Friday. Still, it's an improvement. Comprising of two sections, with a 5 minute walking break, it still absolutely knackered me. Oh, and it includes some time climbing over walls, leaping bodies of water and traversing car parks. More like an obstacle course than a running track.

The shock of American car culture has been dampened by running on the no-motors-allowed trail that I use to walk to college, however, I'm sure even this will provide ammunition for my posts. For example, American teens made fun of me and pretended to tackle me as I ran past them, just like their stupid English cousins. Will my foreign accent make me more scary or undermine my retaliations? Stay tuned to find out.

If you want to find out what I've been doing whilst shirking my running duties, see my new and shiny blogspot if you haven't already (lots of posts are about eating): Culture Vultures.

Thanks for not removing Alison and I from the hall of fame, RunnerFolk!

Started out really slow, last 3 miles were faster. 1 mile barefoot on the grass.

Yesterday Zack and I went on a hike here, and it ended up being about ten miles total. On the way back we jogged bits of it (we were both wearing our trail running shoes) and it was a lot of fun. Definitely a workout, and I felt it on today's run, but I didn't count it as mileage since I was wearing jeans.

We are so fat and haven't run in ages. Tomorrow we are going to Caladesi Island (near Dunedin, Fla.) to help encourage us to get back into running. We both really want to become an active part of this blog again, so please encourage us! :)

This is my longest run in a while. My groin still hurts, but the pain is pretty minor when I am running. So I am back to the familiar point where I have an injury, but I can continue to train through it (I have like five of these, but who is counting). I saw a PT guy about it. He thinks I have tendonitis or something called ilio pectineal bursitus. The tendon is right next to the ol' family jewels, so it's pretty damn uncomfortable to get work done down there. The tendon itself is painful to put pressure on, even where there is no injury. I'm willing to pay the price (literally and figuratively), though. I think if I lightly stretch it, and run 4-5 days a week, I'll be fine. Anyway, we'll see. For the 7 days I didn't run I was pretty miserable and jealous of you bastards for being able to run. I also did four ~80 meter strides after the run. I am going to make this a habit for after my runs. In addition to being good for form and such, I read that it can help to prevent lower back and hip injuries. Slogging along at a slow pace all the time can be damaging. Anyway enough of that.

Had one split of 22:30 for 2.7 miles (8:20)

To be specific, 4x1000m, 400r. 3:29, 3:26, 3:26, 3:19. Felt pretty good for being hung over. Next weekend I will not drink the night before my race, I promise.

Nice sunny day! Nice easy pace with Darren; talked most of the way about work and video games. My body was feeling pretty tired last night and today, but my legs aren't particularly sore or anything so I guess that's good. First time in awhile that I've run 3 day in a row! I think I'm going to take tomorrow off and then do my Magneto run on Saturday or Sunday.

splits: 12:32 - 11:11

5.25mi, 41:03 (7:49)
Mile loops of 8:02, 7:51, 7:48, and 7:44. Nice easy run between yesterday's hills and tomorrow's track workout.

Ran with Darren today. Fairly good weather, overcast with no rain. I pushed it pretty good the last 2-300 meters. We were both sucking serious air after we stopped. Glad he ran with me today, I definitely ran harder than I have been. We're doing the 4.2 tomorrow.

splits: 9:47 - 8:48

Luke - 8.75

8.75mi, 68:37 (7:50)
Wednesday Fox Hollow run with Zack. The hill took 8:45 up and 6:53 down. We both are getting a lot stronger every time we do this run.

I haven't been running much because of my groin injury. I think it's gotten better, but it still bothers me when getting up from sitting down. Anyway, baseball season is almost here, so I thought would post this classic article:

Actually had some energy today! About 54* and cloudy, no rain. Was able to lose the long sleeve tech shirt halfway through. I'm going to do a shorter run tomorrow with another guy I work with. Probably Sunday I'm going to do my old Magneto run. I really want to ramp up my miles in preparation for the 5k on the 13th.

splits: 16:49 - 15:27

Luke - 5.25

5.25mi, 40:something. Zack has the splits written down somewhere so I'll get them from him later and update this.

Did an extended version of the run Zack and I have been doing each Wednesday. Was kinda dying by about twelve miles in, but gutted it out and pushed to a decent (7:20ish) pace the last three miles.
