Luke - 8.25

8.25mi, 71:26 (8:39)

Trails with hills including The Wall. Don't really know the exact mileage, of course. I haven't run hills in a long time and it shows. Hills are the one thing you can't fake. You can get great race times, high-mileage weeks, and have great runs all the time just by running every day, but if you don't do hills consistently they'll kick your ass when you finally do them. Thought of the day, by Luke Vaughn.

  1. did you get up at 2:45 am to watch the Men's Marathon?

should be some good races tomorrow. sucks that all the favorites are out of the 800. although Symmonds (or "Simonds" as those wacky Brit announcers on universal sports say) has a hell of a chance for a medal.

  2. I stayed up to watch the Men's Marathon, yeah. Did you see it? The second place guy was ralphing in the last quarter mile, as he ran.

Hopefully Symmonds can pull through...he doesn't seem like a guy that should be competitive on the world stage in the 800...giant white guy in a field of super-skinny east Africans.

  4. My dad recorded like a fucking days worth of athletics today. It bumped some of the films I had set the TV Box to record, not best pleased.
