Trails with hills including The Wall. Don't really know the exact mileage, of course. I haven't run hills in a long time and it shows. Hills are the one thing you can't fake. You can get great race times, high-mileage weeks, and have great runs all the time just by running every day, but if you don't do hills consistently they'll kick your ass when you finally do them. Thought of the day, by Luke Vaughn.

did you get up at 2:45 am to watch the Men's Marathon?
ReplyDeleteshould be some good races tomorrow. sucks that all the favorites are out of the 800. although Symmonds (or "Simonds" as those wacky Brit announcers on universal sports say) has a hell of a chance for a medal.
I stayed up to watch the Men's Marathon, yeah. Did you see it? The second place guy was ralphing in the last quarter mile, as he ran.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Symmonds can pull through...he doesn't seem like a guy that should be competitive on the world stage in the 800...giant white guy in a field of super-skinny east Africans.
nah i didn't see any highlights or anything actually. just saw the results. my japanese runners came up short of medaling. a japanese runner did have the honor of being the first non east african finisher though. gonna get up early for the track events tomorrow..
ReplyDeleteMy dad recorded like a fucking days worth of athletics today. It bumped some of the films I had set the TV Box to record, not best pleased.
ReplyDeleteYou should watch them, James! It's exciting stuff.
ReplyDelete5k was a great race. i thought lagat was going to get bekele when he pulled up even with 50 meters to go. symmonds blew it in the 800...
