  1. how many miles for you this week? i know you did a lot of speedwork this week, so your overall mileage is probably down.

    i did some calculations for my run 2, rest 1 plan. To average 30 miles a week(for a 3 week cycle), I need to run 14 miles in those 2 runs. Right now I'm doing about 23 miles per week, or 10 every 3 days. I think I can slide this up to 12 or 13 per 3 day cycle as long as they are easy(8:30 to 9:30 or so). Do you think if instead of resting, sometimes I ran a real easy 2 or 3 miles at 9:30 or 10:00 pace, it would add any benefit or would be a waste?

  2. Yep, very low this week. 51.75 miles total (Sunday through Saturday).

    To average 30 miles a week you need to average just under 13 miles every 3 days.

    Yes, even 2-3 easy miles helps you. In addition to the extra miles, it can help you feel fresher on your workout days.
    I can't believe you had to ask if running more is a good idea...
